Steve met with the health department this morning. We are a "go" for every food item we wanted! That means the crepes, poached and steamed eggs are okay! The reason this is a big deal is b/c we can't really have a hood in the kitchen. The landlords understandably do not want a big hood in their building and they don't want to insure the business with it either(they are in the insurance business next door). So, we were really nervous about what items we would be able to have on the menu w/o a hood. It looks like we are okay to make everything we wanted without a hood. That saves us some $$$! Things are going our way today!
Why two g's you ask? Fogg is my mother's maiden name and her father was a backcountry pilot here in McCall for years. Many people who have lived here for a long time know of the Fogg family and they were well-liked community members. My grandmother used to tell me the greatest stories about Grandpa Fogg. Their legacy is one I would like to keep alive here in McCall. We will have old McCall photos in the restaurant and "Hall of Fame" dedicated to my grandfather and his flying. Steve is also a pilot, as you know, and enjoys flying to some of the backcountry airstrips. Many of which my grandfather made! Very cool! I will try to find some old photos to scan for the blog in the next couple of days. Bob Fogg was actually in a big backcountry flying article in the Idaho magazine in June. Thanks to my Uncle Bill for bringing it to our attention. It is a really cool article!

i love that your are keeping grandma fogg and the family's memories alive down there in mccall! that would make her very proud :) you gotta have pics of holly in there... that's what i think of when i think of grandma fogg! :)
hmm... i'll be thinking of fun ideas for the shop... i can't wait to visit! (have i really been saying that for how many years??!)
